Ilembe districts top 5 matric learners aims high

Ilembe districts top five matric students’ achievers rose above the districts bad percentage. Through hard work, dedication, sleepless nights and the help of dedicated teachers the top 5 now reaps good results.

The top five achievers in the district, Jisheel Kanaye, Desilan Govender, Nokubonga Joy Mkhwanazi, Adnaan Kazi and Sindiswa Khuzwayo achieved a combined 36 A symbols. Kanaye is the district’s top achiever with eight distinctions followed by Govender, Mkhwanazi, Kazi and Sindiswa all with seven distinctions.

Fifth placed Khuzwayo matriculated from Udumo High School in Mandeni while the other four are all from Stanger Manor Secondary School.

Stanger Manor Secondary School has once again kept their number one position of producing best matric results across the district. This has a good record of high achievers in KwaDukuza. Sindiswa Khuzwayo has done Mandini proud by scoring her place in the top 5, speaking to the KZN North she says it was a very rough road but she always knew she had the potential to do best.

“Being from the rural area and coming from a rural school is a very big challenge for any matric learner in terms of learning facilities and extra classes but through dedication we make it. I am proud to be Mandini’s top achiever and I will continue working hard in varsity” elaborates Khuzwayo.

The Ilembe district is very placed by the top achievers but still disappointed about the low pass rate obtained this year. Nearly half of Ilembe’s matric learners failed.
