Sanral's decision to make submission to e-toll

Gauteng Premier David Makhura welcomes the decision by the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) to meet with the e-toll advisory panel.

The panel has scheduled the meeting with SANRAL on 3, 4 and 6 November 2014.

"I am convinced that the decision by SANRAL to make its submission to the panel is consistent with the spirit of strengthening co-operative governance and improving inter-governmental relations to serve the people of South Africa better," said Makhura.

The e-toll advisory panel was established by Premier Makhura in July to assess the socio-economic impact of e-tolls in Gauteng.

The panel is made up of experts from various fields such as transport, economics,

engineering and the legal fraternity. These experts were selected because of their vast and diverse experience and knowledge in their respective fields.

Since its establishment, the panel has received submissions from the public, organised formations political parties and government institutions.

The panel is expected to submit an evidence based report on its findings to Premier Makhura by 30 November 2014.
