Angrily residents protest against poor service delivery

The protest started after the mayor had a community meeting with residents in Madundube, a small

village just outside Stanger in Durban, Started on Sunday.

Residents closed down the road R74 with stones and burning tires demanding answers from the municipality.

A source told Spotlight newspaper that the protest started during the meeting, when unhappy resident left the meeting and started the protest.

Ricardo Mthembu, kwadukuza Mayor confirms that he had a meeting with the community, and addressed that the municipality received the land for housing two months ago, “The project will start on March 2015 because it is impossible to start the project in five weeks time “he said.

Residents said that the action will be an ongoing protest.

"We will not stop until we get what we want, we are tired of these people" said shouting the residents.

"We have been waiting for so long, we want change now, 2015 is far" said one of the residents.

R74 road is still closed and the police are monitoring the place.
