Annual NACMA awards around the corner!

The 3rd Annual NACMA Awards 2014 is a continuation of a brand that Awards excellence in choral music across the nation, promotes choral music, contributes immensely to social cohesion and nation building.

Furthermore the NACMA Awards is greatly involved in the development of choral music and unearthing of talents within the choral music landscape, “ Our diverse cultures, succumb to Choral music in many ways as it is one of the most important aspect in our lives - a source of inspiration and expression”, said the NACMA

It is one day to go for The glorious NACMA Awards 2014 will take place this coming Saturday, 1st of November2014 - Durban Playhouse. Address: 29 Acutt Street, Durban - KwaZulu Natal.


The NACMA said that this year, they have embarked on a very special undertaking whereby two songs His Excellency President Zuma loves singing i.e. "Umshini Wami" and "Yinde Lendlela" will be performed by an orchestra and sung by an artist. Furthermore, the NACMA Awards will honour President Zuma with a Founder's Awards for His Excellency's singing talent. This is an opportunity not to be missed.

On entertainment, you may expect the likes of renowned artists Judith Sephuma, Matthews Singer, Soul Brothers, and Raphael Vilakazi & Nozuko, Clash of the Choirs Winners 2014 and many more to give jaw dropping performances.

13. Best Community Radio Station

14. Best Community Radio DJ

15. Best Composer

16. Best Arts & Culture Department

17. Best Melting Pot Choir

18. Best Choir CORSECMA

19. Best Choir POLMUSCA

20. Lifetime Achievement Award

21. Founders Award

Categories 11-14 and category 9 are highly contested as the public vote by SMS in selecting a winner. Category 20 is very special as it honours a legend in Choral Music who has contributed immensely in their lifetime. Winners will take home great monitoring prizes which will not only be of a financial benefit but contributing towards their future endeavours in Choral Music.

 NACMA Awards, wish to convey their deepest heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and fans of the fallen heroes in sport who recently passed on, “our country and sport in particular is indeed robbed with such great talent after the loss of a Female Boxer who died after two weeks in coma, our Athlete who succumbed to death in a car accident and the tragic incident of our very own talented National Football Player who was fatally shot on Sunday”, said NACMA.
