Jo’burg City welcomed spring in Jazz style!

Johannesburg City a world class African city together with Arts Alive welcomed spring on Sunday by style, hosted a free entrance “Jazz on the lake” just outside Johannesburg CBD at Zoo Lake commemorating 20 years of democracy.

The audience was entertained by the likes of Limpopo reggae legend Colbert Mukwevho who gave one of the best performances featuring songs such as “No woman no cry” and close his set with a song he said he did with Brenda Fassie“Hero’s party”

 Afro sensational Vusi Nova also performed his tribute to the late Brenda Fassie and his first single “I rather go bind”; Zimbabwe duo which was mistaken to be The Soil by many, Josh Meck; Remna Schwarz from Cape Verde proved music is an universal language “People could understand what we were singing, they were busy nodding and dancing along” he said.

Much anticipated The Soil lived to their expectation, got the crowed of youth up and dancing with their smashing hits we are family, inkomo to name few.

Johnny Clegg who was the main act closed the show with a blazing performance with songs such as Impiand ibhola.

 The Soil will release their new album on 22 September titled “Nostalgia moments”
